Wheel-thrown ceramics influenced by living by and swimming in the sea at Scarborough. Sculptural pieces tell the story of an individual swim while vessels and smaller works are inspired by the colours and moods of the sea.

Lesley Warner is taking part in the upcoming Summer and Winter open studios
A one-room studio, on the ground floor, with windows looking onto the car park. My wheel, kiln and stock of clay and materials are all held within the studio. Usually I have a small run of display shelves and a larger shelved area for work in progress. Occasionally, for open studios, I turn the full studio into a showroom type area (and clean the floor thoroughly!)

Directions
The Old Parcels Office is at the far end of Scarborough Railway Station Car Park, which is accessed via an arch off the Falsgrave Road.
Parking
Scarborough Railway Station Car Park is pay via app. Free parking is available nearby at Sainsbury’s superstore (YO12 5EA) – five minutes walk
Access
Standard access to the Old Parcels Office is via a stepped entrance. A side door can be made available for anyone requiring step free access.
There is a 6 inch step into my studio. With notice this can be made accessible for manual wheelchairs as I can put boards down to make two big 3 inch steps instead. I don’t know whether mobility scooters or motorised wheelchairs will be able to access the studio.
Toilets
There are 4 toilets at the Old Parcels Office, up a short flight of steps. The disabled toilet is accessed via an external door from the car park which will need to be unlocked on request.
